reminds me of the famous story on Kunjan Nambiar
Once the king built a big lamp post(deepasthabham) and asked his ministers what they felt about it. No one dared to speak against it . all gave very good opinion and all were rewarded duly. Then the king asked nambiar who said
(the lamp post is a wonder ; i also need money)

Hi, thanks for this post, it is very interesting to me.
I have read this quote elsewhere also but have not been able to understand what he meant by it which made the King 'realise his mistake', according to someone's blog.
Also, I am so surprised to hear of the Gilgit people's reservation in India's elite institutions.
Why does it remind you of what Kunjan Namibiar said of the lamp post?
